Borderlands staff attended a wetland restoration training workshop led by Bat Conservation International, designed for practitioners interested in and networking with other public and private land management and restoration interests

Borderlands Restoration is currently working on a collaborative wetland restoration programming effort with BCI that could protect and stabilize numerous existing and threatened springs, cienegas and other riparian areas.

Staff has a major research paper accepted at the bi-annual Association for Fire Ecology conference in Portland, OR: Emerging Techniques for Pre- and Post-Fire Restoration with Landscape-Scale Social and Ecological Effects in the US/Mexico Borderlands

BHRI gave arroyo and rangeland restoration presentation to the Santa Cruz county Natural Resource Conservation District [USDA/Natural Resources Conservation Service], focused on emerging partnerships and potentials through BHRI.

BHRI gave multiple presentations at the Borderlands Food Summit in Rio Rico, AZ, emphasizing effective and efficient combined food production, native plant, pollinator and process restoration on wild and cultivated lands, and community investment in ecosystem service protection and enhancement.
