BHRI: Upcoming Summer Events

Posted on May 28, 2013 by admin in Uncategorized

BHRI needs to plant hundreds more small plants at restoration sites just outside Patagonia. Work includes digging small holes, hauling plants, watering from cans and hoses, and monitoring plant success short and long term. Date to be determined.

June-August, possibly longer

Local high school student and other part-time intern workers will be needed to assist with and learn ecosystem and species modeling and monitoring; habitat enhancement surveys, planning and project execution assistance. Projects, work and learning opportunities will vary and be reported online.

First week of July: A Borderlands Monsoon Potting Demonstration and Plant Sale–

Borderlands Habitat Restoration Initiative will be re-potting some of its locally-collected plant stock with any willing volunteers in the town park.

We’ll demonstrate best methods and answer questions about our current work locally and regionally–anything from porch gardens to food production to ecosystem services and landscape-scale restoration work. Stay tuned for exact date and time.
