Sunrise over the San Rafael Valley

Here’s a breathtaking shot of the sunrise over the San Rafael Valley as seen from Red Mountain of the Patagonia Mountains. Imagine how water trickles down this southern slope of Red Mountain into Harshaw Creek before entering Sonoita Creek at the confluence between Native Seeds/SEARCH Conservation Farm and the town of Patagonia.

Much of the landscape in the forefront of the San Rafael Valley is critical wildlife habitat for a multitude of protected species, ranging from jaguar to the lesser long-nosed bat.
