Velvet Ash

The velvet ash (Fraxinus velutina) clings to its yellowing leaves.

Whomever ever said that Arizona doesn’t have seasons surely wasn’t lucky enough to experience this beautiful tree.

The velvet ash is an important restoration plant since it is so quick to establish in a new site and quickly grow and produce seed.
