We’re Hiring Youth! BECY Program Practicum Accepting Applications
Are you a high-school aged student in the Mountain Empire? Have you ever wondered about alternative ways to make money? This just in! the Borderlands Earth Care Youth Institute is now accepting applications for its school-year based Practicum program, that will focus on providing youth with sustainable business skills while giving them the opportunity to give back to their communities. Borderlands Restoration L3C (BR), in collaboration with Patagonia Union High School (PUHS), G.A.R.D.E.N. Inc. (GI), and Borderlands Habitat Network 501(c)3 (BHN), is excited to offer ten paid positions for high school students in the Patagonia area. Youth workers who apply, interview and are selected for the Borderlands Earth Care Youth (BECY) Practicum will have the opportunity to hone skills in specified Job Fields, choosing from a breadth of topics within the fields of sustainable agricultural and habitat restoration. The goal of the BECY Practicum is to train youth to develop marketable and financially sustainable small businesses that are not only in demand, but are also restorative to the landscape. These businesses will be supported within an umbrella organization – the BECY Practicum. Workdays will occur after school on the PUHS campus during the 2015/2016 academic year.
