Charlene's Bio
Charlene Saltz began her career as an elementary school teacher, aiming to inspire youth to care for the environment. Early in her career, she developed outdoor education programs, facilitated teacher workshops, designed curricula, and connected students and teachers to urban ecology research. Her specialty was simplifying academic research for all audiences, including building citizen science programs.
Eighteen years ago, Charlene shifted her focus to the electric utility industry. She started by developing and informing customers about energy efficiency programs and now works to simplify the complexities of the utility world for external stakeholders and guides the company's sustainability strategies and disclosures.
Recently, Charlene and her husband moved from Phoenix to Patagonia, where they purchased land and built a home in Wildlife Haven, bordering the Borderlands Wildlife Preserve. They have fallen in love with the landscape here and become active members of the community.
